How did you find yourself working in property and specifically in your field?
My career started out and has predominantly been in hotel management. I was the General Manager of the Mercure in Mildura and Assistant Manager of the Novotel on Collins before moving into a type of accommodation property management with Corporate Keys. I developed an interest in OC as the areas that I have enjoyed from my previous roles basically wrapped up into one job – OC Management.
Did you grow up in Melbourne? Tell us a little about where you are from and where you live now.
I was born in Brisbane and moved to Mildura when I was 4 years old. Grew up in Mildura and eventually moved away, have lived in Bendigo for a year, Tom Price (remote Western Australia) for 6 months and have now been in Melbourne for nearly 3 years. I have lived in Southbank predominantly and have not long moved out to Ascot Vale – I love Melbourne!
What was your favourite TV show when growing up?
The Bold and the Beautiful would always be on when we got home from school…not saying it was my favourite but I watched it most days…not proud of it.
What is one thing you could not live without?
Probably my phone – it’s my line to the outside world…terrible I know.
Describe your ultimate holiday?
It would be an open ended trip to predominantly the USA, staying in hotels (my back is too old for backpacking and sharing showers is yuck), road-tripping all across the country and seeing the places I haven’t been to yet. Perhaps a quick trip over to Paris and London whilst there.
If you could have any one superpower, which would you choose?
I think teleporting would be cool.
What, or who, are you a ‘closet’ fan of?
The Royals…the younger ones mainly.
Which sporting teams do you barrack for?
Hawthorn in the AFL, the Clippers in the NBA, the Patriots in the NFL, the Ducks in the NHL and the Redsox in the NBL.
What is the best thing about your job?
The people I get to work with both in the office and on committees.
What are three things still left on your bucket list?
To see the Northern Lights
Drive Route 66
Get my pilots license
What is the greatest piece of advice you have received?
Fortune favours the brave.
